Infertility management with Platelets Rich Plasma (PRP)

Infertility management with Platelets Rich Plasma (PRP)

It has been confirmed that the body has the ability to heal itself. Platelet-rich plasma therapy is a treatment method that can harness those abilities and amplify the natural growth factors your body uses to heal tissue.
Platelets Rich Plasma and How it works
PRP injections are prepared by taking anywhere from one to a few tubes of the patients blood and running it through a centrifuge to concentrate the platelets. These activated platelets are then injected directly into the patients injured or diseased body tissue. This releases growth factors that stimulate and increase the number of reparative cells your body produces.
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is becoming more popular as a nonoperative treatment option for a broad spectrum of medical disorders, including gynaecological diseases.
Platelets rich plasma is used in the treatment of the following infertility-associated gynecological problems:

1. PRP in premature ovarian failure

Premature ovarian failure (POF) refers to loss of normal function of the ovaries before age 40. The introduction of isolated growth factor-bearing platelets directly into the ovaries might trigger a resurgence in oocyte production.

Premature ovarian failure results in:

(a) absent follicular growth and maturation

(b)absent ovulation

(c) absent menstrual flow

(d)inability to conceive.

PRP therapy improved ovarian function in women with premature ovarian failure, infertile women more than 35 years of age, and women with low ovarian reserve, as these women produced eggs after the treatment

2. PRP in refractory endometrium

The endometrium plays an important role in achieving pregnancy. Endometrial growth following inadequate ovarian stimulation may be insufficient, leading to poor results of IVF/ICSI cycles. Various strategies been suggested to improve endometrial thickness, especially in resistant cases. PRP is a novel therapy that has been tried in such patients with good outcomes.

Some patients that have been unable to conceive due to poor endometrium, achieved pregnancy after treatment with platelets rich plasma.

Thus , platelets rich plasma increased the endometrial thickness and enhances its receptivity

Consider PRP to also increase your chance of conception by booking an appointment with the Doctor here or using the WhatsApp chat.
